Your chance to sail in The Tall Ships Hartlepool 2023 race [Archived]
To mark our sponsorship of the Tall Ships races in Hartlepool, we are giving one lucky customer the chance to go on the trip of a lifetime this summer.

5 May 2023
Thirteen have become a Business Community Partner of the summer extravaganza between 6-9th July. We are running a competition for a customer aged 15-24 to enjoy seven days as a sail trainee on one of the many vessels taking part in the Tall Ships Races.
The winner will embark on a special voyage from Den Helder, Netherlands, to Hartlepool.
We are also including up to £500 of trip essentials such as a passport, insurance or other must-haves to travel on one of the ships.
Angela Corner, head of community resilience at Thirteen, said: “We’re really excited to be a part of this year’s The Tall Ships Races Hartlepool 2023 event.
"One of our priorities is to bring new opportunities to young people living in our communities. So, we are also thrilled to be sponsoring one of our customers to become a sail trainee. This will give one lucky young person a fantastic once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Entrants of the competition must live in a Thirteen property and be aged between 15-24. They can enter by sharing a 60 second video telling the company why they should be selected ahead of anyone else and describe the top three things they would pack for the trip and why.
Those entering the competition must use the hashtag #thirteentallships for social media and visit www.thirteengroup.co.uk/tallships2023 to submit details and upload their video. The video and form must be submitted by midnight on Friday 12 May.
Full terms and conditions can be viewed at www.thirteengroup.co.uk/tallships2023.
As well as the competition, we will be doing lots of community work in the lead-up to the event and supporting activities such as litter picks, gardening, and decorating the streets. If you visit the Tall Ships event between 6 - 9 July, pop by our stall. You can learn more about the work we do in Hartlepool and have some fun with the team.
